Can I have my container painted?

Can I visit the container yard?
Yes, Stor-Pro Containers welcomes you to visit our container yard 24/7.
Can I pick my container?
Yes, you can visit our container yard and pick out your container. We would be happy to go over your storage needs and help you select a container to meet your needs. We can also help you with any container modifications you may need. This includes adding vents, doors, windows, electric and even heating & cooling to mention a few.
How do I maintain my container?
If you are using your container for static storage, not a lot of maintenance is needed. Containers are made of COR-TEN/ Weathering steel which is extremely durable and meant to withstand the harsh environment at sea. Therefore, they require very little maintenance.
We recommend giving the door hinges some oil or grease from time to time as well as cleaning the floors and walls. To keep the exterior looking fresh, we also recommend painting, especially if there are areas that are scratched or dented.
What is a CSC Survey?
If you need to use your container for shipping or exports, the container needs to be CSC Certified. This is done by a certified 3rd party inspector who inspects the container and certifies that it lives up to the safety standards required for international shipping.
CSC is the International “Convention for Safe Containers” established by the IMO in 1972. The convention establishes uniform international safety regulations and requires all containers to be fitted with a CSC plate. The CSC plate includes information on
• Identification number
• Date of manufacture
• Weight capacity
• Stacking capabilities
All our New containers come with valid CSC plates. For cargo-worthy containers, add CSC inspection as an extra service and you are ready to use the container for shipping or exports. Stor-Pro Containers work with independent certified 3rd party CSC inspectors to ensure the highest level of trust. With the Inspection completed, you have confirmation that the container is approved as a Shipper-Owned Container (SOC) and you are ready to ship your container.
Who owned my container before?
All containers have a so-called BIC identification number starting with 4 letters.
As an example, if the identification number starts with MSCU it is a container from Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC). Check your container number on www.bic-code.org.
